DAN AYKROYD (DR. DAVIS)
Dan Aykroyd entered show business in 1972 as co-producer, writer and actor of a series of 15-minute comedy shows entitled A CHANGE FOR A QUARTER for Cable TV. The same year he joined the famed Second City Comedy troupe performing with them in Chicago and Toronto until 1974. He also co-wrote and co-starred in his feature film debut, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.
Joining the cast and crew of a new comedy series in 1975, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, Dan became instrumental in changing the face of television comedy. With John Belushi he formed 'The Blues Brothers Band' in 1979, releasing a hit album Briefcase Full of Blues, which also gave rise to a movie - THE BLUES BROTHERS - and a sell-out 10 city tour, also released as an album - 'Made in America.' The duo also appeared in Steven Spielberg's 1941 and the Zucker/Brown production, NEIGHBOURS.
Aykroyd's screen career has also included starring roles in TRADING PLACES, opposite Eddie Murphy, GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS II (both of which he originated and co-wrote), SPIES LIKE US (which he also originated and co-wrote), DRAGNET (co-writer), CONEHEADS (co-writer). Other credits include appearances in DOCTOR DETROIT, EXIT TO EDEN, THE GREAT OUTDOORS and MY STEPMOTHER IS AN ALIEN.
In 1990 Dan earned an Academy Award nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Boolie Werthan in DRIVING MISS DAISY. He directed his first feature the following year - NOTHING BUT TROUBLE - enlisting the support of fellow SNL veterans Chevy Chase and the late John Candy, while also finding time to appear in Anna Chlumsky's feature debut MY GIRL, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Macaulay Culkin. In 1992 he appeared alongside Sidney Poitier and Robert Redford in SNEAKERS. Later that same year he portrayed legendary director Mack Sennet in Richard Attenborough's CHAPLIN. He has recently appeared in a variety of films including BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS (2003), 50 FIRST DATES (2004), and CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRANKS (2004), as well as having several television sitcom guest starring roles.
ROBBIE COLTRANE (BRENDAN DELANEY)
Robbie Coltrane's twenty year career in film, theatre and television began in 1973 with the documentary YOUNG MENTAL HEALTH, which won the Scottish Education Council Film of the Year. He followed this auspicious start with five years in theatre, before coming to national attention in the new wave of British 'alternative' comedy in the 1980s with appearance in SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, LAUGH, I NEARLY PAID THE LICENCE FEE and 13 productions of THE COMIC STRIP PRESENTS. He made his feature film-acting debut in 1990 co-starring with Eric Idle in NUNS ON THE RUN. In 1991 Robbie was awarded The Peter Sellers Award for Comedy.
Parallel to his career as a comic actor, Coltrane has exhibited a rare intensity and depth playing a range of dramatic roles. The best known of these is certainly his portrayal of Fitz in the phenomenally successful TV series CRACKER. Nine films over three years earned the series two BAFTA awards (Best Drama Series, 1995, 1996), Royal Television Society Award for Best Drama, Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Series (1993), and a USA Cable Ace Award for Best Movie or Mini Series.
Robbie's central performance in CRACKER has been rewarded with three BAFTA awards as Best Television Actor (1994, 1995, 1996); a Silver Nymph Award as Best Actor (Monte Carlo Television Festival 1994); Best Television Actor at the 1993 Broadcasting Press Guild Awards; Royal Television Society's 1994 award for Best Male Performer; FIPA's Best Actor award; and a Cable Ace award for Best Actor in a Movie or Mini Series.
Robbie's prolific career also includes 26 film credits including MONA LISA (Neil Jordan), HENRY V (Kenneth Branagh), ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS (Julien Temple), GOLDEN EYE (Martin Campbell), MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE (Luis Mandoki), MONTANA (Jennifer Leitzes) and THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKELBERRY FINN (Stephen Sommers). Most recently he reprised his role as Valentin Zukovsky in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (Michael Apted), the nineteenth Bond movie. His latest turn as Rubeus Hagrid in the film adaptations of the children's publishing phenomenon Harry Potter series, as well as roles in films like VAN HELSING (2004) and OCEAN'S TWELVE (2004) have made a Robbie an instantly recognizable star.
BRENDA BLETHYN (DEIRDRE DELANEY)
Brenda is one of British cinema's most versatile and celebrated character actors. A native of Ramsgate, Kent, Brenda trained at Guilford and subsequently became a member of London's Bubble Theatre and the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry before joining the National Theatre in 1975. Her long list of credits there include TALES FROM THE VIENNA WOODS (Maximillian Schell), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, THE PROVOKED WIFE and TROILUS AND CRESSIDA. Awards for her theatre work include the 1991 Theatre World Award for Outstanding New Talent in Lynn Meadow's ABSENT FRIENDS, an Olivier nomination in the category of Best Actress in BENEFACTORS (Michael Blakemore) and Best Supporting Actress at the Cinzano Critic's Awards for STEAMING.
Television work includes THE BUDDAH OF SUBURBIA (TV mini-series), ALAS, SMITH AND JONES and several adaptations of Shakespeare including KING LEAR and KING HENRY VI, PART I. In 1997 Brenda received her first Academy Award nomination in the category of Best Actress for her performance as Cynthia in Ken Loach's SECRETS AND LIES. The role was also nominated for a BAFTA Film Award and won a Best Actress Award at Cannes Film Festival, as well as a Golden Globe, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award and the London Critics Circle Award in the same category. Brenda's performance opposite Michael Caine in Mark Herman's LITTLE VOICE also garnered widespread critical praise including nominations at the Academy, BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards in the Best Supporting Actress Category. Other film work includes THE WITCHES (Nic Roeg), A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT (Robert Redford), KEEPING TIME (Christopher Cain), RKO 281 - the story of the making of CITIZEN KANE, in which she played Louella Parsons, and most recently SAVING GRACE. Recent work has been alongside Bob Hoskins in Guy Jenkin's drama, THE SLEEPING DICTIONARY. In addition, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in SAVING GRACE.
EANNA MAC LIAM (BOYLE)
Eanna is one of Ireland's busiest young actors and a familiar face on stage, television and film in these islands. Among his recent theatre credits are performances in STELLA BY STARLIGHT (Gate Theatre, Dublin, Dir. Ben Barnes), JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK (Abbey Theatre, Dublin, Dir. Ben Barnes), HALLOWEEN NIGHT (Andrew's Lane, Dublin and Donmar Warehouse, London Dir. Lynn Parker) and A TALE OF TWO CITIES (Gate Theatre, Dublin, Dir. Alan Stanford).
Eanna has appeared in many productions for television. Notable among his credits are the drama series' MAKING THE CUT and the popular soap FAIR CITY the acclaimed adaptation of John McGahern's novel, AMONGST WOMEN and THE AMBASSADOR (Ecosse Films), He has also worked with some of the most distinguished film directors in the British Isles including John Boorman in THE GENERAL, Jim Sheridan in MY LEFT FOOT, Stephen Frears in THE SNAPPER and twice with Alan Parker in ANGELA'S ASHES and THE COMMITMENTS. TONY BRIGGS (MICHAEL)
After an eminent career in amateur athletics - the highpoint of which was his selection as a member of the Australian 400m hurdles Olympic squad in 1992 - Tony pursued his career as an actor full-time; a passion he followed from an early age. Alongside a range of performances in theatre - WHO'S AFRAID OF THE WORKING CLASS (Melbourne Workers Theatre, National Tour), STOLEN (Playbox/Iibijerri),TWELFTH NIGHT (Melbourne Theatre Company) and A MIDNIGHT'S SUMMER DREAM (Sidney Theatre Company) - Tony has also appeared in several made for TV movies and serials including THE GENIE FROM DOWN UNDER II, OCEAN GIRL III & IV, PACIFIC DRIVE, NEIGHBOURS and THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER III. Previous film work includes THE ORDER, GARGANTUA, JOEY, and a feature-film adaptation of Nancy Cato's novel BROWN SUGAR.
JIM NORTON (CASSIDY)
Jim has established an international reputation as one of the finest character actors of his generation, with work in theatre, film and television. He received critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic for his touching performance in Conor McPherson's award winning drama THE WEIR, when it played to packed houses during its residencies in London, Dublin and on Broadway.
He has appeared in numerous television productions across a range of genres. His recent credits on Irish and British TV include BALLYKISSANGEL, THE CUT, WYCLIFFE, THE AMBASSADOR (Ecosse Films), and memorably as Bishop in the hit series FATHER TED. Film credits include WILD HORSES (Sid McCarthy), HIDDEN AGENDA (Ken Loach), INTO THE WEST (Mike Newell), MEMORIES OF AN INVISIBLE MAN (John Carpenter) and STRAW DOGS (Sam Peckinpah).
ALVARO LUCCHESI (FOLEY)
Alvaro is a graduate of the BA programme in Drama and Theatre Studies at Trinity College, Dublin. His theatre credits include roles in SANDMAN (Players' Theatre, Dublin, Dir. Lynn McCarthy), NANA (Samuel Beckett Theatre, Dublin, Dir. Michael Cavan), TROILUS AND CRESSIDA (Samuel Beckett Theatre, Dublin, Dir. Michael Cavan), WAITING FOR GODOT (Aoife Monks). He previously played Laman Griffin in Alan Parker's adaptation of ANGELA'S ASHES and starred in the Irish comedy THE MOST FERTILE MAN IN IRELAND.
SIMON DELANEY (GROGAN)

DON BAKER (BARCLAY)
Don is credited as the world's greatest living harmonica player and has published several tutorial books and videos for students of the 'harp'. He is also renowned as a guitarist and songwriter and has released seven albums over the past twenty years. In addition to his music career Don has appeared in a number of feature films making an impressive debut in Jim Sheridan's IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER. Other credits include SUNSET HEIGHTS (Colm Villa), AMONGST WOMEN and MERCY (Alberto Seixas Santos).
ABOUT THE CREW
SCOTT KENNEDY, PRODUCER
A twenty-year veteran of the film industry, Scott Kennedy began his career as a cinematographer for news, sports and documentaries, and many of Warren Miller's internationally acclaimed ski films.
He founded Cactus Productions in 1987, which quickly secured its position as one of Canada's top production houses for commercials for a client base which included Canadian Airlines, Esso and Kokanee Beer. Cactus garnered numerous international awards for its inventive commercials.
In 1995, Scott expanded into feature film production with the creation of Highwire Entertainment Inc. (formerly Cadence Entertainment Inc.). The inaugural production in that same year was the CBS movie-of-the-week, A DREAM IS A WISH YOUR HEART MAKES: THE ANNETTE FUNICELLO STORY. In 1997, Scott executive produced writer/director Gary Burns' feature film KITCHEN PARTY, starring Scott Speedman (Felicity) and Laura Harris (The Faculty). Scott produced the feature film RUPERT'S LAND in 1998, starring George Wendt (Cheers) and Samuel West (Howard's End) and Ian Tracey (DaVinci's Inquest). The film was nominated for five Genie Awards, and won a handful of Leo Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
In 1999, Scott executive produced TAIL LIGHTS FADE, starring Denise Richards (The World Is Not Enough), Elizabeth Berkley (Showgirls), Breckin Meyer (Go), and Jake Busey (Contact). After screening at the American Film Market, TAIL LIGHTS FADE was quickly picked up for US distribution by Trimark Pictures, which is now owned by Lion's Gate Entertainment. Scott is currently President and CEO of the publicly-traded entertainment company Highwire Entertainment Group (formerly Voyageur Film Capital Corp.), which is currently traded on the CDNX under the symbol HWR.
TRISTAN ORPEN LYNC, PRODUCER
Tristan has been involved in the Irish film and music industry since leaving college in 1989. He has worked for Mother Records - the U2 owned label - and acts as a professional representative for a number of Irish musicians. He has worked as producer/director on several productions for Mercury Video, Veritas Video and Zappo Productions. He has also worked for the Blake Edwards Corporation in development of feature projects.
In 1999 he formed Subotica Entertainment Ltd with partners Dominic Wright, Paul Moore and David Cooke. For Subotica Tristan produced NIGHT TRAIN, a love story starring John Hurt and Brenda Blethyn which enjoyed a successful release in the international theatrical market.
DAVID CAFFREY, DIRECTOR
A native of Dublin, David Caffrey's interest in film began with a video production course at London's Pimlico Arts and Media Scheme in 1990, which he followed with a BA in Film at West Surrey College of Art and Design. Before becoming a director, David worked in various capacities as a producer, writer and assistant director. His early shorts include BANTHAMS, which was commended as part of the prestigious Lloyds Bank Film Challenge, I, which he also wrote, which was broadcast as part of the 'Shooting Gallery' showcase, I SHUDDER (also produced) and BOLT, starring Dani Behr. David made his feature debut in 1998 with DIVORCING JACK, a well-received adaptation of Colin Bateman's blackly comic novel, starring David Thewlis and Rachel Griffiths. He has since directed the TV mini-series ARISTOCRATS.
TONY PHILPOTT, WRITER
Tony returned to his native Dublin in March 1999 after thirteen years living in Vancouver, Canada. While working in North America as Creative Director in several international advertising agencies, Tony also found time to teach writing for multimedia at the University of British Columbia and write a number of screenplays. His animated television series, TWISTEERIA, has recently been awarded Canada's prestigious Leo Award and his first novel, THE FILES OF FLYNN DE COURCY has also just been published. ON THE NOSE is his first produced screenplay.
PAUL SAROSSY, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
In little more than a decade Paul Sarossy has established a reputation that ranks him amongst the world's leading cinematographers. He rose to prominence first through his work on films by fellow Canadian Atom Egoyan, where Sarossy's clean, evocative style was the perfect visualisation of the celebrated director's themes of surface, identity, and loss. Together they have collaborated on SPEAKING PARTS, THE ADJUSTER, EXOTICA, THE SWEET HEREAFTER, and most recently FELICIA'S JOURNEY. Other credits include Patricia Rozema's THE WHITE ROOM, Paul Schrader's AFFLICTION and the forthcoming RATED X. Paul's' awards include Best Director of Photography at Valladolid International Film Festival (FELICIA'S JOURNEY, AFFLICTION), Best Achievement in Cinematography at Canada's Genie Awards (EXOTICA, THE SWEET HEREAFTER, FELICIA'S JOURNEY) and Best Cinematography in TV Drama as decided by the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards (ROCKY MARCIANO).
